Privacy Policy

Lang.zone translates text. To do that, the text you ask it to translate is sent to our server and on to the translation model. It is not stored, not linked to you, and not sold or shared with anyone else.
What we handle
The text you submit for translation. In the web and mobile app this is what you type into the box. In the browser extension it is the text you select on a page and choose to translate — the extension reads nothing else from the pages you visit, and stays inactive until you make a selection.
That text is sent over HTTPS to our API at api.lang.zone, which passes it to Google’s Gemini API to produce the translation and the alternative phrasings, then streams the result back to you. Google processes it as our service provider under their own terms. We do not write it to a database, a log or a cache, and it is gone once the translation finishes.
Your account
You can use Lang.zone without an account. If you sign in with Google or Apple to buy a paid plan, we keep your name, email address and profile picture as that provider gives them to us, so the plan follows you between your devices. Payments are taken by Stripe, who hold the card details; we keep only their customer reference and when your subscription runs to. Delete the account and both go with it.
What stays on your device
Your chosen languages, your recent languages and your light or dark theme preference are saved on your own device — in browser storage on the web and in chrome.storage.sync in the extension. Chrome’s sync storage means your language choice follows your signed-in Chrome profile to your other computers; that syncing is handled by Google, not by us. None of these settings reach our servers, and you can clear them by removing the extension or clearing the site data.
What we do not do
- We do not keep your translations, on our servers or on your device.
- We do not track which pages you visit, your clicks, or your keystrokes.
- We do not sell or rent data to anyone, and we run no advertising.
- We do not use your data to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
Server logs
Our API keeps standard request logs — the method, path, response status and how long the request took — which we use to keep the service running. These logs do not contain the text you translated.
This website
lang.zone uses One Dollar Stats for aggregate visitor counts. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of individual visitors. The browser extension contains no analytics of any kind.
Your rights
If you have an account, write to us and we will export or delete it. Everything else is on your device: to stop all data leaving it, remove the extension or stop using the app; your local settings go with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page before they take effect.
